Unformatted text preview: Physics 114A - Mechanics Lecture 32 (Walker: Ch. 13.1-3) Oscillations II March 11, 2011 John G. Cramer Professor Emeritus, Department of Physics B451 PAB jcramer@uw.edu March 11, 2011 Physics 114A - Lecture 32 2/32 Physics 114A Course Evaluation Today we will start with a Physics 114A Course Evaluation, which will take 15 minutes. You are to evaluate the quality of the Lecture Part of Physics 114A only , (not the Lab). Your participation is voluntary, and you may omit specific items if you wish. To insure confidentiality, do not write your name on the forms. Use ONLY A #2 PENCIL on the scannable forms. If you need a #2 pencil, they are available at the front of the room. There is a remote possibility that your handwriting on the yellow sheets could be recognizable. However, this should not be of concern. I will not receive these results until after the quarter is over, and you have already received your course grades. I have selected some monitors to distribute and collect the forms. They will place the completed forms and extras in an envelope and return it to the Office of Educational Assessment. I will leave the room and return in 15 minutes, at 1:45 PM, after the questionnaires have been completed and collected. I think we have had a good and productive quarter. Thanks for your participation! John Cramer March 11, 2011 Physics 114A - Lecture 32 3/32 Announcements Homework Assignment 9 is due at 11:59 PM on Sunday, March 13. Estimated 114A course grades are now posted on WebAssign. On Monday, March 14, we will have our Final Exam, which will cover Chapters 1-13 of Walker. It will be similar in form to the previous exams, but all multiple choice. We will not have a review before the Final. You may bring 3 pages of notes for the Final. Be sure to also bring a scientific calculator with good batteries and a Scantron sheet. If you have successfully completed Exams 1, 2, and 3, the Final is optional. The Estimated Grade on WebAssign will be your final grade if you complete HW #9 and skip the Final. You need to take the Final only if you wish to try to improve this grade.
