2 Summary Situation Analysis A&D High Tech is a company dedicated to sell computer products, accessories and services to consumers and small businesses. The company started in 1988, with a made – to – order products, where they were very innovative at the time, and were the first to be introduced in the personal computer industry. The company started their sales with a principal target, the retail outlets in shopping malls across the Midwest and via phone orders. The phone calls were really ineffective because they had too many mistakes in the orders and their competitors had more accuracy in the final sell. They fixed the problem of the inaccuracy in the phone calls orders installing an ERP. This software reduced in a considerable way their mistakes in sells orders. After this successful implementation, the company decided to invest in the improvement of their system in handling the supply chain, payment process, customer relationship management (CRM), and order management. The company saw benefits with this initiatives, reducing costs, as well a significant return on investment on its supply chain and data warehousing projects. Behind all the implementations of the company there is a group of specialist working against time with a known and successful Project Manager, Chris Johnson. Internet at that time was view as a risky option for doing business. A&D did not take the risk of start selling online, but their competitors did. When they realize how effective the Internet for doing business is, they were behind their competitors. Now, the company needs to start selling online. The Project Manager assigned for this project leaves for an emergency and this task was assigned to Chris Johnson, the Project Manager that have been successful with other projects in the company. The executives are exerting pressure because they wanted this project to come out live on December in that year (Jeffery, 2006).

3 In this company, like in the rest of the companies where I worked before, all the implementations are against the clock. The time administration in projects (projects with delivery time around the corner) like this is really important. A manager should have a really clear agenda for the meetings that are organized, list what decisions need to be made, and work with a fixed and short time period in those meetings (Prakash, nd). According to my experience, the successful result of an implementation is not just for how hard the project is, how much the budget is, or the time that the company has available to finish.
