CIS175 Introduction to Networking LAB Week #1 Please complete the lab and submit by the end of the week in the dropbox. If you have any issues with the dropbox, please email me at [email protected] Define the goals of Networking You have been hired as a contractor by an organization to evaluate and make recommendations for a new computer network system. The VP of human resources is the key contact, but her background is in mainframes. She asks you to brief her on some basic PC networking concepts so she can present her recommendations to the President. Action 1: The VP is not clear on the benefits of networking. She asks what type of things can be shared on a network. Well not to be too general but virtually all of your data and information can be shared. I will explain. To begin with, you will have immediate access to all information and will be able to communicate promptly with all employees. First, all of your information and file sharing can be done between computers pretty much instantaneously. So you can throw out most of your floppy and zip drives. You can also use your network
