Q3). Departmentalization is grouping activities and people in to departments. Which are the various forms seen in the industry? Ans) Departmentalization is grouping activities and people in to departments. It helps to expand organizations. There is no ideal way of departmentalization applicable to all situations and organizations. Various forms of departmentalization seen in the industry are following. 1). Departmentalization by Simple Numbers – In this form departments are created and the people are grouped in a numbered way. 2). Departmentalization by Time – In this form departments are created based on time, like day shift, night shift etc. e.g. call centers, hospitals, airports etc. 3). Departmentalization by Enterprise Function – In this form departments are created based on the activities in accordance with the functions of an enterprise for e.g. production, selling.
