Dalton Campbell CWV 101 February 9, 2020 Dr. Meadows Benchmark - Gospel Essentials In today’s world there are many different worldviews, beliefs, and motives that shape not only the people of our society but the world we live in as a hole. Even sharing the same worldview such as the Christianity worldview, many people with the same view can have a magnitude of different beliefs and ideas on how someone should live their life in order to be considered a “good” Christian. Regardless of what any person says or thinks, all humans are forgiven and once you devote your life to Jesus Christ as your lord and savior that you will have eternal life and your sins will be forgiven. In this essay I will do three things: discuss and evaluate the four essential elements of the Christian worldview which include God, humanity, Jesus, and restoration, provide an analysis of the Christian worldview, and reflection on the Christian worldview and how it relates to my own beliefs. God “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth” (Genesis 1:1). In the Christian worldview God is the ultimate reality and when he spoke the words all things were created; all things were created in seven days. Christians believe that there is only one God, who is the Father as Jesus Christ taught mankind, there is the Son, which is Jesus Christ, and believe that God functions as a Trinity (BBC News, 2014). God is merciful, forgiving, loving although God has led with a stern hand as we see written in scripture. Since day six of creation when God 1
created Adam and Eve, he had always shown his love and appreciation towards humanity which is known as his greatest accomplishment. As God gives them the Garden of Eden and gives them one rule which is to not eat the forbidden fruit off of the tree of knowledge of good and evil. When God found out that Adam and Eve had disobeyed his commandment, he punished them and thus we had entered a world of sin. Just these passages of scripture from Genesis we see that God loves his creations and wants his children to live in the word of God, however God does not bestow good things upon people who disobey his rules. There are many different characteristics to describe God such as love, goodness, kindness, faithfulness, compassionate, and justice
