This course is administered through the Center for Student Professional Development at The Fox School of Business. KEY LEARNING OUTCOMES Upon completion of the BA2101 course, student will be able to demonstrate an understanding of professional development as it relates to entry into the professional business environment Personal Development: development of a realization of how personal interests, values, and skills influence career development and the job search. Assess personal interests, values, and skills in the context of the job/career search Develop an understanding of what comprises a comprehensive job search strategy Career & Industry Awareness: development of an understanding of the workplace, industry, and career options. Identify competencies sought by employers Identify relevant career options based on utilization of various on-line and print resources Impression Management: development of effective written, oral, visual and non-verbal communication as it relates to career/job search behaviors. Demonstrate an understanding of how to market one’s self through effective job search correspondence Acquire knowledge of current workplace issues and expectations Demonstrate an understanding of creating an appropriate on-line presence Demonstrate an understanding of ethical responsibility related to the job search REQUIRED TEXT : Major in Success; 5 th
