1 st - review - corporate and manufacturing concerns. 2 nd - war graphs - red= men - increasing men working in manufacturing - wpmen are moving out of domestic work into offices. - Men are moving off the farm into manufacturing. 3 rd - the industrial workforce 4 th Child and children labor - late in the 19 th century is when schooling is becoming more mandatory. - Children in the workforce doesent make people in the upper and middle class happy. They disagree with it. 5 th Industrial work - Increasingly people work around the clock - 6 Industrial Hazards - 146 women died because their workplace caught on fire and they couldn’t get out. - Law- If your injured on the job by a fellow employee, your employer is not reliable. 7 - workers go to court - Many states passed minumium hours law - Some states et minimum wages - Holden v.s Hardy- law that miners have minumium amount of hours. - Lochner v.s New Yotk- Limiting the number of hours that a baker can work. Law didn’t pass, bakers were able to work as much as they want. -
