ENGR 203 System Architecture Midterm Examination Solution Example NOTES: (1) This file provides examples of the diagrams requested in the examination. The objective is to provide insight and reinforce the learning experience. (2) There is no single correct solution. A good response to the examination problem will resemble these diagrams, but any architecture design that makes sense is acceptable. (3) This solution was developed over a longer period than the exam itself, and exam answers are not expected to be as complete as these samples. (4) This solution is done in basic UML; the conversion to SysML would involve mostly replacing Classes with blocks and providing flow ports. Operational View A logical partitioning into Domains follows the structure of the examination problem. The following diagram shows domains, flows among them, initial decomposition of several domains, and possible actors, including external resources and system operators, using both Flows and Dependencies where appropriate.
