That means that these slides are not a complete record of each lecture. They do not contain all the important points or ideas. They do not contain a detailed outline or sequence of the content. I count on students to listen to each lecture, think about the content as they are listening, and decide what notes to take. That process typically helps far more with learning new ideas than does merely transcribing from slides a point-by- point recitation of the lecture. So, please use these slides appropriately. They give you the main outlines and big questions, and a few of diagrams and illustrations. Beyond that, you ll need your lecture notes.
