I definitely think that representation in top management is a fair indicator of the effects of diversity training programs. According to the book, diversity programs are effective in improving representation in top management. Diversity programs include strategies to measure the representation minorities and women in managerial positions. According to the text book diversity programs also hold managers accountable for achieving demographically diverse management teams. 2. The text book indicates that there is no strong representation of management in one-shot diversity training programs. The main problem with one-shot diversity training program is the lack of any strategies. According to the book, researchers conducted a major study about diversity programs, and the results showed that “organizations that provided diversity training were not consistently more likely to have women and minorities in upper management positions than organizations that did not.” The text book states that

I think the most important factor is to have strong representation of management who make the diversity programs effective. The employment selection system should be more clear and fair. It is also important to provide proper training and materials for employees to overcome obstacles, and improve the communication of organization practices and policies. 4. I think it is crucial to have diverse and strong representation of management along with employees. All the employees should be treated fairly regardless of their demographic characteristics or background. It would also important to acknowledge the employees how the diversity can have a positive outcome, demonstrating how different perspectives can be valuable to improve performance of the group.
