Claire Tu Chinese III H P.01 May 29, 2007 Self Evaluation - Homework The Homework Assignment that I specifically selected to do my self-evaluation on is the Lesson Nineteen Dialogue One. This dialogue is a conversation between an exchanged student and staff worker at a post office in the country of Taiwan. The purpose of this item of work is to teach vocabulary and grammar in a sentence structure. I learned new vocabulary and grammar to help me speak and write better in the future. I accomplished this item of work by reading the Lesson Nineteen: Dialogue One from the Chinese III textbook and converting the Simplified Chinese in to Traditional Chinese. I copied the dialogue on to a separate sheet of paper so at the end of the year when I return all my textbooks I would still of a copy of the dialogues, grammar, and pattern drills. I would evaluate myself with an excellent because it is neatly written, labeled correctly, and I converted the Simplified characters in to Traditional with no errors. Comparing the Lesson Nineteen Dialogue One work with other Dialogues this would be the neatest. I spent more time writing this because the topic was interesting and I wanted to make the assignment look clean and precise. From last year’s work I would say this year’s work is much neater. I spent time making sure every stroke of every character is correct. Last year, the textbook was in Traditional Chinese so I simply copied it, this year I had to learn to convert Simplified Chinese in to Traditional Chinese. I can do a better work in the future by underlining all the vocabulary and grammar used in the dialogue. I can use this learning in the future if I am to be in a Taiwan post office. Copying all the dialogues also mean that I would have a copy of the textbook by the end of the year so I would not have to worry about not having the textbook. Writing dialogues can benefit me in the future since it teaches me how to use the correct vocabulary and grammar when speaking.
