I choose the Atkins diet. It all started in 1963, when Dr. Robert C. Atkins began to formalize the controlled carbohydrate approach after studying a series of articles published in the Journal of the American Medical Association that supported this theory. Dr. Atkins found how eating the right foods while limiting refined carbohydrates in one’s diet changed a person’s body from a carbs-burning to a fat-burning machine. Atkins believes that to lose weight eat diet foods from the base of the food pyramid, which includes lean proteins, leafy greens, vegetables, and healthy oils. Then, as you get closer to your goal weight start moving up the pyramid like fiber- rich fruits, dairy, nuts, beans, and whole grains. This diet is a four phase diet. In phase one the diet only contains only 20 net carbohydrates per day for two weeks. They recommend healthy fats, proteins, and vegetables. During phase two you start to add more foods like berries, nuts, and yogurts. Phase three they call the pre-maintenance phase. During this phase you add fruits, and beans. Finally in phase four
