Atmosphere It is the mixture of gases, mainly hydrogen and oxygen, found above the earth’s surface. Biosphere Thin layer below, on and above the earth’s surface where life forms exist. Contour Lines Lines that show us the steepness of the land or the height of the mountains. Cultural Feature Cultural feature is what a region contains of human cultures. GIS A computer system that is able to capture, store, and analyze geographically referenced information. GIS = Geographic Information System. GPS It uses a system of satellites to correctly display the accurate position of a person, place, or an object. GPS = Global Positioning System Gradient The slope of the land
