Brittany Drengler Gen. Bus. 300 Frascona Response Essay 3 Question #1 I think this article presents many interesting ideas about the difference in communication styles between the two genders. It is an interesting topic and I can definitely see a relevance in learning about different ways of communicating in order to be successful at working with different people in the business world. While I really agree with some of the authors’ opinions there were other parts that I wasn’t so sure about. For one, I am not sure that the authors take the best approach in presenting an all-or- nothing view on the subject. They try to dispute the credibility of the writer of “Men are From Mars, Women are From Venus” by saying that he incorrectly believed masculine and feminine communication styles come from innate differences between the sexes, yet they state that these differences are completely learned. I have the tendency to believe that the distinctions between genders are probably due to a combination of learned and biological forces.
