Hale Scheckelhoff Bus 101 No Smoking 1. What is the central issue(s) in this case (try to think of more than 1)? Why? The central issues are about invasion of privacy of a company banning smokers, even if smoking was no seen on company property. Worker rights seemed to be infringed. 2. In a broad sense, from the perspective of Weyco, who is the primary stakeholder groups involved in this case? Provide evidence from the case for each individual stakeholder that you placed in the stakeholder group. The primary stakeholder’s are Weyco as they have been criticized of infringing worker rights and worker privacy invasion. Employees are also primary stakeholders as four of the employees lost jobs due to not being able to quit smoking and the others dropped the habit of smoking, not at their own will. Weyco would also argue society is a stakeholder as nonsmokers are affected by the smoking of others, in and outside of the company.
