Morgan Bailey August 6, 2011 HDF 304 Extra Credit Assignment: Long Distance Relationships-Good or Bad? So the got accepted to your dream college and are very excited about it, only problem is it’s 5 hours away from your hometown and your girlfriend of 5 years, what happens to the relationship? There are many pros and cons about “The LDR”, but a lot of people agree, it can be done. The pros can range from having your space to saving money. (Sheeba) The cons can range from being tied down to technology to being lonely. (Ramsamooj, 2010). Technology can turn out to be a burden on long distance relationships. Your partner may blow up your phone one day if you aren’t answering, maybe blow up your Facebook wall. Theres the paranoia that they may not be able to trust you being so far away. Also, going out by yourself can be rather embarrassing, or go out with friends you are the 3 rd wheel.(Ransamooj,2010). However, a missed phone call or not getting an e- mail one day does not jeopardize the relationship. You can’t assume your partner is cheating on you. (Pearson, 2001) They could just be really busy at that time, eventually the call will be returned. According to another article, a disadvantage of LDRs can be the
