Running Header: UNIT 8 PROJECT 2 Some companies are successful by having a great product. Other companies are successful by having a great product and caring about the people that they hire. PepsiCo is one of those companies that are not only successful, but they care about their employees and their possible growth within. You can almost say that they breed their success by giving their employees these options. PepsiCo believes in talent sustainability. This means that in order for their associates to thrive, PepsiCo must continue to provide a supportive and empowering workplace. This includes giving associates the opportunity to learn and grow professionally through regular training and proven career development tools, as well as the transfer of best practices, skills, knowledge and technology across the businesses (PepsiCo Company, 2011). They mentor their employees by conducting training for associates, from the frontline to senior management, making sure they have the knowledge and skills they need to achieve the performance goals needed in a challenging and changing world. This is done with many programs and resources. PepsiCo University is where classroom and online coursework is offered to develop managerial and leadership programs, which are then launched world wide. Through PepsiCo's Global Development Council, PepsiCo University sets priorities and aligns on world wide curriculum needs (PepsiCo Company, 2011).
