Running Head: UNIT 4 ASSIGNMENT 2 The music that I associate my childhood with most is R&B (Rhythm and Blues). I grew up with Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, Minnie Ripperton, the Ojays and many other various singers playing in the background of the car rides to the store and blaring on Saturday mornings when it was time to do our weekly chores. The music always made doing the work so much more enjoyable. Because it made the chores fun to do, I looked forward to going to the record store with my Mother and getting new albums to play. We used to listen to them, read the lyrics, and then play them over and over. Once the needle slid across to the end of the record and slung itself back to the ready position, we would rush back to start it all over again. I can remember my Grandparents having parties and asking us to help them pick out the music for the festivities.
