The economic downturn has left both employees and employers with obligations. Usually, employers and employees are obligated to each other to make the work environment comfortable, productive, and safe. But when you have an economy that is going downhill, employees and employers flip the script a little and the workforce changes drastically. The focus of the employee and the employer become different. Once the employer that focused on making it's employees happy and providing what is best for them, now becomes the employer that has to focus completely on the greater good of the company. Even though the employer was always obligated to run a company successfully, they were also obligated to their employees. Now that there is less focus on the employees, some may feel as if the employer no longer cares about their lively hood, families, or financial constraints.
