ILOILO CENTRAL COMMERCIAL HIGH SCHOOL Iznart Street, Iloilo City The Phantom of the Opera is a very old story. It was written by Gaston Leroux. It was  written in 1910. It is about a phantom that falls in love with a soprano opera singer. The theme is  about romance, horror, mystery and tragedy. It starts in the Opera Garnier in Paris. Employees there say that there is a ghost in the  opera house, who they termed as “the Phantom of the Opera.” Joseph Buquet, the lead scene  shifter of the opera house tells the ballet dancers of the phantom. The sudden death of Joseph  made the dancers suspect that it is the doing of the ghost. The story centers upon the Phantom’s  unhealthy infatuation with an aspiring soprano opera singer, Christine Daae. He does all in his  power to ensure that the love of his life achieves stardom. He gives the woman one-on-one music
