BEHAVIOR JOURNAL (12 pts) Objective : To increase awareness of a negative behavior in order to improve your wellness. Procedure : 1) LOG - Select 1 target behavior that you want to change (consider a behavior related to any of the dimensions of wellness, i.e., physical, spiritual, social, emotional, intellectual). Type the behavior in the spaces provided and then follow the example below to complete this log every day for one full week (7 consecutive days) . Examples of target behaviors include overeating, eating too fast, smoking, worrisome thoughts, frequent anger outbursts, negative thinking, excessive drinking, sedentary behaviors, etc.) ( Note: You must choose a specific BEHAVIOR, which means it is an actual action that you want and/or need to change to improve your health and wellness). Target Behavior : A specific and measurable behavior that you want to change because of its negative influence on your quality of life/wellness. Example : Overeating, especially during times of stress 2) REACTION - Review your log and write a reaction to this experience by answering the following questions. What did you learn about the behavior and about yourself? Describe the frequency and intensity of the behavior from Day 1 to Day 7, and to what you may attribute any change that may have occurred. Overall, did your increased awareness help improve your wellness in any way? Explain why/why not. For detailed assignment expectations, refer to the grading RUBRIC on page 6 of this document .
