Course: 11 th Grade Technical Mathematics III (Fall Semester) Text: Algebra I Mathematics in Context (Cord) Cost: \$46.95 Prerequisite: 10 th Grade Technical Mathematics II Curricular goals interwoven throughout the mathematics program are that students will: learn to communicate mathematically (QCC) learn to use mathematics in their daily lives (QCC) become proficient with appropriate computational tools and techniques (QCC) learn to reason mathematically (QCC) become mathematical problem solvers (QCC) These goals will provide the direction for assessment and instruction. Attainment of these goals is facilitated by the students’ demonstration of the following Academic Knowledge and Skills (AKS). Chapter 1: Integers and Vectors (pp. 1.4-1.62) 14 days compute with integers and rational numbers (QCC, HSGT, SAT I) (MAT3_A2001-2) use graphs to determine sum and difference of vectors (QCC) (MAT4_A2001-2) Chapter 2: Scientific Notation (pp 2.4-2.46) 10 days use estimation, conversion, and exact calculations in solving measurement problems using appropriate technology/instruments (QCC) (MAT3_A2001-1) compute with exponential expressions (QCC, SAT I) (MAT3_A2001-3) Chapter 3: Using Formulas (pp. 3.4-3.44) 12 days use estimation, conversion, and exact calculations in solving measurement problems using appropriate technology/instruments (QCC) (MAT3_A2001-1) write, evaluate, and perform operations with algebraic expressions and formulas (QCC, SAT I) (MAT3_B2001-4) Chapter 4: Solving Linear Equations (pp. 4.4-4.62) 14 days
