X-ray diffraction measurements show that a polyethylene acetabular cup crystallizes in a body-centered orthorhombic unit cell with lattice parameters a = 0.7417 nm, b = 0.4945 nm, and c= 0.2547 nm at room temperature. Use the figure from lecture slides to establish the orientation of the chain axes. There are two repeating units per unit cell (one in the center and one-quarter in each of the four corners). Calculate the crystal density of this polyethylene. (15 pts)
