A component may be a reservoir of matter or energy, a system attribute, or a subsystem - Coupling: the links between any two components of a system. An equilibrium can be stable or unstable. - Feedback Factor: the ratio of the equilibrium response to forcing (the response with feedback) to the response without feedback.
