DISASTER PLAN 2 Disaster Plan Introduction There is no time-table for any disaster till it strikes. Therefore, the necessity to plan and accommodate any form of disaster will inevitably minimize the occurrence and also greatly minimize the effect of those disasters. Disasters do happen from time to time, even in the best cases. In establishing a network, one must ensure that the network is reliable, performs, and addresses adequately all the needs and expectations. Security Network security is very important and need to be stepped up in view of the high-crime location of the company, which also experiences occasional earthquakes. Network administrators have the responsibility of providing proper access levels to certain users in order to get the job done. The network administrator needs to allow only authorized users into the network and keep unauthorized users out of the network. There are other factors, such as environmental and problems from the computer that can cause concern for data security. A company relies on data within the network to keep the company running, so it is important to keep such data secure and recoverable in case a disaster should occur. There is a need to create a disaster recovery plan for 123 Textiles Corporation which operates in a high-crime area coupled with occasional earthquakes. The company’s server is next to a window, which by the location presents a security risk. During recent break-in at the company’s location the server was stolen. The provision of security around the site may greatly minimize or eliminate this problem along with monitoring/security cameras. The company also backs up company data once a month. Data needs to be backed up once a week in view of the
