Everyone differs slightly in what they consider attractive or beautiful. Do you believe certain attributes are universally attractive? What are these attributes? Do you believe one’s sense of beauty is intrinsic or learned? What influence do the media and one’s peers have on the concept of beauty? What other factors influence the perception of attraction? I am not sure if there are attributes that are universally attractive but I think that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Everyone is different; everyone has their own individual idea of what is attractive or beautiful. I think that for the most part, how one views beauty is learned. Depending on where you live, you may see "beauty" very differently. In some areas of the world, short and thin is the preference and in other areas, tall and large are the preferences. Media is a large influence on how beauty is seen or thought of. Magazines, especially the ones that young girls look at show these tiny, skinny, petite girls or women and that is what they think they

I think this creates self-esteem issues because they think this is how they must look to be pretty or to get a boyfriend, most of the time they are not even that small or capable of being that small because of their body frame or genetics. The media can really poison the minds of young people and young adults. I think that beauty is learned and the people we choose to spend our time with are a big influence on how we view beauty. For example: if the group of people that you spend time with think that only certain designer clothes are acceptable or certain types of men are acceptable that can easily influence your perception of your surroundings. I think that most superficial things such as: where you live, the car you drive, what you wear, who you know, and what type of job you have all influence attraction or how those things are viewed. ..either positively or negatively....
