Lab Session #5 Half-Wave Rectifiers Randall Robert Purpose: To study the characteristics and operation of half-wave rectifiers and filter circuits. Assembly: For Procedure 1. connect the circuit in fig. 1 using a 20V p-p square wave @ 60Hz as the input For Procedure 2. connect the circuit in fig. 2 first using the 1microfarad cap. For Procedure 3. replace the 1 microfarad cap from procedure 2 and replace it with a 100 microfarad cap. For Procedure 4. repeat parts 1 through 3 with a 20V p-p sine wave instead of a square wave. For Procedure 5. connect the circuit in fig. 3 Procedures: (all figures are on page 6 of this report) 1. After assembling figure one with a square wave input voltage of 20V p-p @ 60Hz the following sketch was recorded: Notice the output voltage is just below the input voltage.
