Lab Session #6 DC Power Supplies Randall Robert Purpose: To apply the ideas developed in Experiment 5 to the construction of practical unregulated power supplies. Assembly: For all procedures, connect the figures in the lab manual and record the output using the scope. Switch the scope for AC readings and record the ripple. For step 5 sketch the curve of the output. Procedures: (all figures are on page 4 of this report) 1. After connecting figure one, with approximately a 20V peak to peak voltage, the following voltages were recorded DC Voltage Output : 9V Ripple : 2mV 2. After connecting figure two, the following voltages at both nodes were recorded. DC Voltage Output (node one) : 10V DC Voltage Output (node two) : -10V Ripple (node one) : 0.44V Ripple (node two) : 0.44V Apart From the negative polarity, is there any other difference between the two output voltages? The two output voltages are 180 out of phase. 3.
