Washington Hill/Perkins Homes (Tract 301) Demographics Total population slightly increased from 2938 to 3065 from 1980 to 2010 with a significant decrease in the white population. It is worth noting that from 1980 to 1990, the total population largely decreased with a big fall in the black population and a rise in the white population. The median age of this tract tends to be younger than other tracts in Gold Coast. From 1980 to 2010, the median age rose from 25 to 29. Income With inflation adjusted, the median household income was $11,900 in 1980 and increased to $14,079 in 2000. It is worth noting that in 1990, the median household income was $28,799, which is much higher than those in 1980 and 1990. This corresponds with an increase in the white population and a decrease in the black population. The low-income households rose from 1980 to 2000. However, in 1990, there were less low-income households than those in 1980 and 2000. This corresponds with an increase in the white population and a decrease in the black population. The rate of the middle income households decreased from 13 percent to 7 percent
