2 Introduction Ø Spreadsheets can be used effectively for some  types of simulation  time dynamics of little or no importance Ø Sample from system repeatedly to estimate  population parameters Ø Can be used to add stochastic component to  deterministic models (like those from DS 412) Ø Process can be simplified using Excel’s Table  function
