Nate Fishman, Jonathan “Mike” Lindle, Clay Morton, and Steve Nagel Professor Presser UW 1020 Sept. 25, 2011 The Effects of Alcohol on College Students. Our group is going to be exploring the topic of collegiate binge drinking. We are inter- ested in this topic because it is pertinent to the college environment that surrounds us. As college students, we are faced with choices about drinking each and every day. This topic is worthy of studying because it applies to the social atmosphere of college as well as the social atmosphere and the United States in general. Unlike other countries, the United States, especially at a collegi- ate level, is infamous and simultaneously glorified for its inability to drink casually, which cre- ates a social phenomenon applicable and interesting to our group. Currently there are many doctors, psychologists, and most notably, college students who are exploring this topic and are directly influenced and affected by binge drinking. In his schol- arly journal, Doctor R. Herring talks about how binge drinking causes harm to individuals
