Sijia Hao Astro 106 – Aliens 23 January 2011 1) In 500 words or less discuss two types of claims about alien visitation on Earth. Why, so far at least, do they seem not to reach the level of scientific evidence? In the 1980’s, crop circles in England were thought to be created by aliens trying to communicate with humans in a mystical pattern in cornfields. Many designs were so intricate that people thought them impossible to have been done by humans. However, people later admitted to fashioning the crop circles themselves and even demonstrated how they did it. Since then, others have been caught in the act, trying to pass off the “crop circles” they made themselves as alien creations. Crop circles are unscientific because, just as it was later proven, humans can just as well make the circles as aliens. Aliens could not reasonably be linked to the patterns, as they were nowhere to be found. People also frequently report to have seen UFOs, unidentified flying objects, floating around in
