MEMORANDUM To: Reggie Fils-Aime, Head of Game Development From: Sijia Hao, Overseas Game Development Researcher Date: 20 March 2011 Subject: “Crystal Quest” Expansion into the United States Introduction: “Crystal Quest”, a puzzle-based Role Playing Game released a few months ago, has been selling considerably well in Japan. Due to the game’s popularity in Japan, we believed that it may be profitable to translate it into English to market to American audiences. We conducted a survey on potential consumers of the game in the U.S. and recorded their reactions to it, in order to project critical reception by the new audience. The data has been compiled and analyzed, and a conclusion has been reached pertaining to whether or not we should attempt marketing Crystal Quest in America. Analysis: The survey yielded 10,234 responses, with 34% being male and 66% being female, with 91% of respondents being within the 10-17 age range.
