Sijia Hao LHC 250 – Section 005 Kotzian 6 March 2011 Negative News Management Situation 1: Company X wants to make a business deal but your company doesn’t want to because Company X does not seem very promising and the deal will bring no benefit on your company’s part. Discussion 1: Bluntly telling Company X that they are too unstable and unpromising for you to get involved with them is probably not a good idea. Start by telling Company X that you are flattered by their interest in partnership with your business and that you have thoroughly deliberated the pros and cons of a deal. Include some of your own company beliefs or goals that both promote your company name and subtly show Company X for itself that your viewpoints differ. Even though you are unable to accept their offer at this time, you can tell them that working together is still a possibility in the future.
