1. Consciousness is our awareness of our environment and us. Consciousness brings varied information to the surface, enabling us to reflect and plan. Consciousness assembles information from various sources, enabling us to reflect on our past and plan for our future. The characteristics of consciousness include subjectivity, change, continuity, internationality, and selectivity. For example, when we are in AP Psych class, our consciousness allows us to focus on what Mr. V is saying. Through our consciousness, we learn stuff in class. 14. Alpha wave meant the brain is relaxed and calm. It usually occurs when the person is about to fell asleep. Theta waves occur at stage 1 of sleep. It is marked by deep relaxation of the brain. Delta waves occur at stage 4 of the sleep. The brain enters deep, dreamless sleeps when this wave presents. Spindles also occur at sleep. It is a burst of activity. 15.
