3/3/08 Bio 244 Cardiovascular Effects of Exercise Results: The graph with the results of weight compared to resting heart rate shows that those individuals with lower weight had a higher resting heart rate, and those with higher weight had a lower resting heart rate (graph 1). Comparably, the graph with the results of weight compared to heart rate 0 seconds after exercise showed little to no trends (graph 2). The male average resting HR is 69 while the female average resting HR is 88.44. The male average HB after 0 seconds of exercise is 113.65 while the female average HB after 0 seconds of exercise is 127.18. Discussion: I hypothesized that as weight increased both the resting heart rate and heart rate 0 seconds after exercise would increase. The data obtained from our class does not support my hypothesis. However, there are multiple other factors that effect resting heart rate, and heart rate after exercising, some of which may have a greater impact on heart rate than age. These factors would explain why the data does not support the hypothesis.
