HBS Product number: TB0147-PDF-ENG Course Description The purpose of this course is to prepare students to be leaders in a competitive, global, diverse economy, adding value through managing the work of people in organizations. The course addresses the human side of enterprise, using readings, lectures, cases, team exercises, videos, written assignments and discussion, applying leadership and management skills to practical decisions. Topics include the elements of management, the concepts and process of leadership, and the transformation of people and organizations. The goal of this course is to have each student to better understand and to be able manage organizational behavior. Course Objectives Why do employees in organizations behave as they do? What does management want employees to do? How do leaders motivate employees to do what management wants employees to do? These three questions constitute the learning objectives: These questions describe organizational behavior, management, and leadership, respectively.
