Leader-to-leader Institute: beyond doing & knowing to being There are three components to being a leader and can be summer up in in three simple words: be, know, and do. Leaders are people who are honest, competent, forward-looking, and inspiring. Interpersonal, conceptual, technical, and tactical skills are all strategies that any successful leader must know and understand. Successful leaders are constantly influencing, operating, and improving the people who follow them. It is important to impart this wisdom on all of the people that they lead. Martin: integrative thinking (process & development) In order to run a successful business there must be leadership within the committed to thinking outside of the box. The goal is to think differently than your competitor and to come up with a product that not only meets the customer’s needs, but also their wants and comforts. Maintaining causal relationships is also extremely important because good service rides on continued employment.
