Samantha Zid MGT 291/ Mrs. Tibbetts Paper Assignment 3/6/2011 Erick Piscopo, HRM at Advanced Drainage System One area of management that I have always been interested in is human resources, so when I got the chance to interview someone in that position I was very excited. Erick Piscopo is the Human Resources Manager ate Advanced Drainage Systems and Piping (ADS). His job entitles him to be in charge of the entire company’s employees. On a day-to-day basis he encounters many interpersonal problems with his employees. As Human Resources Manager Erick spends a great deal of time dealing with employee personality, emotion, and attitudes, along with trying to motivate him. ADS is a multi national company based in Columbus, OH with branches throughout the United States, Mexico, Central America, and Canada. The company manufactures and lays pipes in the ground to provide drainage. Their pipe’s “many advantages [include] lightweight construction for easy handling, high resistance to corrosion and abrasion, and strength and durability to withstand severe loading conditions.” 1 The company has been extremely successful in laying pipes and this is in part do to the structuring of the company that has been led by HR. Erick explained to me that he was brought into the company to expand HR from the typical payroll and benefits position. He has worked hard to get the company of 4000 people together in a unified culture.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
