THE 191, Russ Blain Production Response 6/11/2011 The Pavilion I had a great time viewing the production of The Pavilion on Wednesday, June 8, 2011, which was written by Craig Wright, and in this adaption directed by D. Lynn Meyers. The minimalist stage and scenery put a lot of weight on the production staff’s shoulders. Ultimately, set director Bill Clark, costume designer Gordon DeVinney, lighting designer Phil Monat, sound designers Matthew Callahan, and casting director Rich Cole did a great job on the production. The entire cast was made up of three people, the narrator played by Jeffery Kuhn, Peter played by Jay Stratton, and Kari played by Anney Globbe. Due to those people The Pavillion was very entertaining, and kept not only me, but the whole audience engaged. People sat on the edge of their seats until the very end to see if Peter and Keri would end up together. Time was an important theme in the play and the production staff presented it very well through the script, lighting and other elements. The script of the play was very aitty and smart which added to the flow of entertainment. As mentioned before, the entire production crew really pulled together to help The Pavilion come to life. The thrust stage was a great choice on Clark’s behalf due to the importance of audience involvement. The actors were able to move back and forth around the area allowing the audience to feel like they were actually in the play, part of the high school reunion. As the lighting designer,
