Samantha Zid PSY 231, Dr. Spangler Assignment 1 CHILD FOCUSED ASSIGNMENT I decided to watch the TV show, Rugrats, for my first assignment. Every episode is made up of two mini-episodes, I watched “The Mattress/Looking for Jack.” The demographic period that Rugrats is addressing is elementary school age children. While the show is set around babies, they are mentally developed with simple logic that elementary children understand and find entertaining. All of the characters in the show have extremely different personalities, which makes it easier for kids to identify with. The plots in Rugrats are very simple and usually revolve around the babies learning a lesson or figuring out something new about the world. The main characters in the show include The main baby’s name is Tommy and he is the character who seeks out adventure. There are twins, Phil and Lil, Tommy’s best friend, Chuckie, and Tommy’s cousin, Angelica. The babies’ parents are also in some of the episodes. In the episode I watched, the first half centered on the babies being terrified of an old mattress.
