Principles of Macroeconomics by Case, Fair and Oster, 10th edition, Prentice Hall 2. MyEconLab for the Case, Fair and Oster text as a study guide and for submission of homework assignments. The textbook and MyEconLab (MEL) package can be purchased in one of four ways: (1) and (2) The complete package, including a new hardcopy textbook, the electronic version of the textbook, and access to MyEconLab, can be purchased from the bookstore. A 3-hole punched version is also available. (3) Students who prefer only the electronic version of the book can purchase that package for $100, including MEL access, by going to the bookstore or www.myeconlab.com Students who have purchased a used book, for either the 8th or 9th editions of the Case and Fair textbook, will have to purchase MyEconLab at www.myeconlab.com for $50.00. So be careful how much you pay for a used copy of the text. (4) Students can buy MyEconLab with a print upgrade to an unbound version of the text for $50. Note: the unbound 3-hole punched version can not be sold to the bookstore, so the resale value is limited. COURSE DESCRIPTION Economics 201is the macroeconomics half of a two course sequence in the principles of economics. Most students take microeconomics, Econ 200, before macroeconomics but this is not required. Macroeconomics focuses on the determination of total national output. This course will be devoted to explaining the behavior of key macroeconomic variables such as output, unemployment, inflation, interest rates and address the role of government fiscal and monetary policy.
