Nicole Mazza March 7, 2011 English 160 Section 4 James Gorham Bodies, Technology and the Oscars During class the morning after the Oscars, we discussed how there are many modern technologies today that have many effects on our bodies, especially the ones used at this ceremony. Examples of this would be the invention of the microphone plus pitch and photo editing. All of these modern technologies have effects on not only our bodies but they influence our perception as well. Someone who is famous more than likely has a talent that is uncommon. That’s what makes America and the rest of the world look up to them. But when technology like pitch editing comes out, not only does it influence our perception but it also gives that person credit for the so- called talent that does not even exist. Another technology that is popular would be photo editing. Every where you go there are magazines, bill boards, TV shows and advertisements that flaunt perfectly flawless bodies, skin, makeup and clothing. This is not achieved with out the technology of photo editing. The editors
