Running Head: The Controversy of Medications I found the stories on the Dateline videos to be quite informative but it was the facts about the medications that were presented that astonished me. I strongly believe that Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder is a real thing but I believe it is also misdiagnosed often. I feel like more children are just being labeled with ADHD because they are different from the others. Putting them on medication seems to be the new answer to this which I do not think is very appropriate, especially for small children. My fiancé has ADHD so I deal with it every day. I have seen him on medication and I have seen him without. He is very involved with music and plays the guitar. He writes his own music, goes to work, school. When he was off medication, the everyday routines were a struggle because I would have to remind him constantly of things such as school work, paying bills, even things such as keeping up with the baby’s food and
