Lab 6.1 Part I Create a floppy disk which will be used to create a boot disk. 1. Shutdown the yourusername-FC9 virtual machine 2. In the VMWare Server Console window go to the VM menu and choose the option Settings... 3. With the Hardware tab selected choose the option Floppy 4. Select the radio button labeled Use floppy image: 5. Click the Create button 6. Type grubboot.flp into the File name: field 7. Click the Open button 8. Make sure the Connect at power on check box is not selected 9. Boot the yourusername-FC9 virtual machine 10. In the VMWare Server Console window go to the VM menu and choose the option Settings... 11. With the Hardware tab selected choose the option Floppy 12. Make sure the Connected check box is selected * This connects the floppy to the VM, if you need to disconnect it make sure the Connected check box is not selected Part II Perform a simple installation of GRUB and create a GRUB boot floppy * Complete the numbered steps on pages 145-147 in your text book
