Lab 9.1 Part I The computer does not have enough free drive space on it to support compiling a new kernel so in this section you will add additional hard drive space to the system 1. Shut down your FC9 system 2. Go to the VM menu and choose the option Settings. .. 3. Click the Add. .. button 4. Click Next 5. Select Hard Disk and click Next 6. Accept the default Disk settings and click Next 7. Accept the default Disk Type settings and click Next 8. Make sure the Disk size is 8.0 GB 9. Uncheck the Allocate all disk space now check box 10. Uncheck the Split disk into 2 GB files check box 11. Click Next 12. Accept the default file name and click Finish 13. Click OK 14. Start the machine, access a virtual terminal and login as root 15. Type the command fdisk /dev/sdb to start the partitioning utility 16. Type the command n to begin the process of creating a new partition 17. Type the command p to create a primary partition 18. Type the command1 to make the first partition 19. Press <ENTER> to accept the default starting cylinder 20. Press <ENTER> to accept the default last cylinder 21. Type the commandw to write the changes to disk and exit the program
