The teacher will read pages from the book Tornadoes by Gail Gibbons and ask the students questions in whole group format. Some of the questions will be taken directly from the text, but others, students will need to use outside information to answer. Answers will be used to determine mastery of the objective. If the answers are not correct, the teacher will ask the student more questions to clarify understanding. Formative: Students will be answering different level questions. While this is taking place, the teacher will be making sure the students are answering within reason, that the answers are from the text, and that they are correct. Summative: The teacher will make sure students can answer higher level questions with examples from the text.
