Nick Pulis Spm 205 Extra-Credit October 9, 2011 College athletics produce some of the greatest sports games in the world. Sports like college football and college basketball hold great traditions that have been passed down from generation to generation. The key that makes all of these great things possible is the governing body of the NCAA. The NCAA works very hard to develop rules and regulations to ensure that athletic sporting events continue at the prestigious level in which they are. Over the course of the last 2 years one of the greatest controversies in sports in college athletes being paid under the table by unknown fans and alumni. This has been a huge problem because it is against NCAA rules for any athlete to get additional benefits for their performances. Just recently it has been released that it is in

It has been said that the director of the NCAA may be willing o enforce a salary of 2,000 dollars a year for college athletes. Athletic directors feel that 3,500 dollars a year would be sufficient for the athletes. I believe this would be a great thing for the NCAA to do. One reason why I think this is because it will slow down the illegally paying of players. Moreover, it will make it an even paying field for all athletes within the NCAA. It still has a long way to go before it is approved but I believe that if the rule is established the NCAA will have a lot less problems on their hands....
