In many cases the impact has been both positive in negative in several different ways. Today, the NCAA is seeing one of the largest college realignment that has ever occurred and most people believe that it is a very bad thing. Many fans believe that there will be a loss of interest as well as a loss of competition throughout the leagues. Emmert believes that because most colleges are moving closer together that traveling will make it a lot easier for the athletes. Moreover, he believes that the overall alignment will benefit the athletes academically as well. I believe that he is right. With more attention focused on the athletic programs and teams themselves and less focus on fan desire, the athletic programs who are participating in the realignment will prosper....
