Nick Pulis SPM 205 Stakeholders 9/18/11 Within the sport industry important decisions are made each and every day. These decisions effect more than just the person or organization that made the decision. A stakeholder is a person, group, organization, or system who affects or can be affected by an organization’s actions. Every sport organization in the world has some kind of stakeholder, and the New York Yankees might just have more stakeholders than any other sport organization in the world. Stakeholders come in all different numbers. The New York Yankees’ stakeholders range in how powerful they are. The stakeholders consist of everyone from the corporate sponsorships, to the employees, to the 5-year-old fan sitting in the left field seats. All of these people are affected by the decisions that the New York Yankees make on a day-to-day basis. Corporate sponsors are the most influential stakeholders that the New York Yankees have. Their top corporate sponsors consist of Budweiser, Verizon, ADIDAS, Continental Airlines, and Bank of America. These corporations put a great amount of capital into the New York Yankees budget and there for have exclusive rights to be involved within the organization.
